Billed as a 'elegant and sophisticated' red the Journeys End Huntsman is anything but. The colour and nose are pleasant and promise flavour that the wine cannot deliver. The wine is unbalanced with high tannins and tart fruit making for an unpleasant drinking experience. I couldn't even finish the bottle. Do not buy unless you need a cheap cooking wine. — 8 years ago

Beavertown Smog Rocket Smoked Porter. A dark stout with a light body. The smoked finished is similar to a castrated Laphroaig whisky. It's like having a Guinness and a whisky in each sip, awesome! — 11 years ago

A West Sussex, local ale. Brewed at a local vineyard this is one of their three ales, this traditional version really goes back to basics. No messing around, no exotic flavours just a straight up, clean ale in a conditioned bottle. — 12 years ago

Inedit by Estrella Damm is a wonderful beer created by the geniuses at elBulli. It is smooth, with a creamy, medium body and a perfect balance. Treat it like a wine, great with food! — 9 years ago

This is a cracking little wine, £12 from a local supermarket and worth every penny. As with all good Merlots this is easy drinking but the depth of flavour helps it stand up to some hearty meat dishes. If you see this, buy it, your in for a treat! — 10 years ago

An Argentine Syrah, 2007 vintage. This wine is aged in new oak barrels which gives a really deep, complex oak flavour the likes of which I have not experienced before. Surprisingly this is matched with some ripe red berry fruits that cut through the oak and lift the wine. It would be perfect with smoked cheese or red meats but I prefer it with just good company. — 11 years ago

Nice berry fruits with an hint oak on the nose. A well rounded, luscious body with various dark fruits and balanced tannins. If you like Rioja, you must try this wine. — 10 years ago

Bottled after only two years of ageing this port will surprise you with it's youthful berry flavours. It's like picking fresh, sweet cherries from the tree. There's a wonderful complexity to the flavour that lingers, definitely one to savour. Be careful with the cork, it's old and delicate, and make sure you decant. — 11 years ago
