T Rioja Tempranillo 2008

Dark in the glass. Like rusty nail and a blood red rose. Smells nice. Perfume of peony, rose and lilac. Also has black cherry juice, and soft black licorice candy. Flavor is robust and bittersweet. Maybe a hint of mocha. Plenty of moreno black cherries. Tannins in spades. More fruit less cedar/incense than some other Rioja’s. It has lovely intensity though. Aged quite nicely too. — 5 years ago

A Contra Luz Palomino Fino 2021

BIG citrus, tropical nose with some pleasant mustiness( Cognac)underneath. Very Palomino. Banana, Mango.
P: Round, no sharp edges, lush. Banana, citrus, no wood. Meyer lemon. Deliciousness.
@Delectable Wine This is the A Contraluz from Raul Moreno 2021.
Thanks@ Enramistas

70% of the must is aged in old chestnut ‘bota’ from Oloroso. 34 arrobas (700 litres) and the other 30% in a Cognac barrel. Reductive aging where the barrels are religiously filled once a week. week. Bâtonnage is not applied and reductive aging of the lees is sought. The wine is only racked once and for bottling. Seeking therefore to keep carbon dioxide in solution and do not add sulphur during aging.
