The ancient wine requested by Ceasar at his feasts, albiet not oxidized as his surely was. Other than the interesting history this wine has a very fragrant perfumed nose. On the palette bold ripe fruit balanced with complex notes such as coffee leather and cigar box. It has medium plus tannins and is a bit of a dry finish. Almost could be drank without food but not quite- it benefits from some food. @B&B Ortigia — 5 years ago

Old building on the label of this older wine. Not sure I’ve had aged Nero d’avola. Dark still with little rust on the edge. Smells Italian. Cherry juice and wood. Maybe slightest of menthol. Flavors are kinda old book and cooked cherry. Maybe leather and wood. It’s not lost much since 2012. This is holding up fine and tastes pretty fine as well. — 3 years ago
Slight Brett in nose but dark cherry black fruit medium body medium alcohol. Much more savory than fruity but with good acidity and medium plus finish. — 9 years ago
Calabrian red. Very good 👍🏻 — 2 years ago
Unique fiano expression. Smoky lemon and honey and the merest hint of pine in bouquet. Intense minerality, smoke and citrus fruits softened with honey cream on the palate. — 7 years ago
Nice dry but with body. Decent spice, great food pair. — 11 years ago

70% Nebbiolo, 30% croatina, 5% vespolina. Some gritty tannins, cherry/ strawberry fruit, pepper, little bit of funk. Really delicious, though I bet a year or two would integrate the tannins. — 7 months ago
