Miguel Torres

Reserva Gran Coronas Black Label Penedès Cabernet Sauvignon 1978

Garnet centre with wide terracotta rim , slightly hazy with very fine sediment. Quite a lot of spice and sun kissed dried plum and blackberry fruit , tobacco and sous bois, slight balsamic notes . On the palate it fills out well with round dried dark fruits , spiced plum, good acidity , slightly rusty tannin and decent length . Still showing well and continued to performed well over 3-4 hours, but drink now and over the next 5 years. — 13 days ago

Drinking in 2024. Inky with rich dark cherry jam. Cedar notes and tight tannins that open up over the long finish. — 3 months ago

Pazo das Bruxas Rías Baixas Albariño 2022

Bright and floral, acidic but not citrusy. Had it with goat cheese, sun dried tomatoes and water crackers. — a month ago

Miguel Merino

Reserva Rioja Tempranillo 2017

Not as flashy/rich as the 2015. More elegant. Old school. Restraint. Balance. Dark fruit. Oak is definitely there, but it’s in the background already showing good integration.Closeout for $22 at K$L right now. Back up the truck. — 2 months ago

Marimar Estate (Marimar Torres)

Don Miguel Vineyard La Masia Chardonnay 2018

La masía translates as "the farmhouse," which Marimar Estate was designed to resemble. Medium Ruby with aromas of red fruits, dried herbs and earthy spice. On the palate flavors of cherry and raspberry with toasty notes and herb cinnamon spice. Full-bodied, fine soft textured tannins, long finish ending with juicy fruit and spicy herb character. Nice! — 4 months ago
