Great color, but not worth the $100 price tag. Tastes like a $70 bottle. — 9 months ago
Takes a few minutes to open up and mellow, but once there it’s satisfying, relaxed, tasty, meandering and playful — 2 years ago

This freak show of a wine I have a soft spot for. Pure Tintillia from Molise. The nose is just crazy. Nuts, anise, blackberry syrup and fresh blackberries. So much to the aromas. They are so present. Not wispy. Mean, evil aromas. But you cannot look away. Pasolini liquified. Rich but fresh and has so much energy. Velvety tannins that gain substance with air. Chewy and dense but also somewhat light on its feet. Long finish and very fresh. Really intense. But also elegant. A wine of contrasts. Let’s see what air does. But a great wine despite my meandering review. — 4 months ago
2016 vintage. Mount Eden Vineyards wine dinner @Mister A’s Restaurant-San Diego. Decanted and tasted after opening and after 4hrs. Opening notes showing the baker’s pantry and a distinctive, crumbled Graham cracker vibe along with plenty of baby fat and meandering. Fast forward four hours…wine had dropped all the above and gained actual structure along with some richness, cinnamon (more the heat than the flavor) and darker fruit components. Still needs a decade plus but coming along and all the building blocks are slowly being laid in place. A small chance this wine is the best Cabernet JP has ever made. Have had more than a few (including the Old Vine Reserve (that 1991 tho, 1990 didn't suffer either)-no longer made-through the '90's) in the 90’s and 00’s laying down defined, kick-*ss parameters. 4.20.23. — a year ago
My favorite Hermitage Blanc of Michelle Luyton and sadly her last. A stunning nose of ridiculous minerality, lime zest, some yellow fruits and tons of granite infused goodness. So much granite. Expansive and airy and with endless depth and top notch mineral clarity. Palate is so elegant and nimble and just glides like an eagle. Moderate concentration and so much texture. Unreal depth and purity. If this said Chave on the label it would be $300 plus. It’s that great. Nose opens with wood shavings and tree bark. Glorious energy on the palate and the freshness is from the mineral energy first and the acid second. Wow this is long and meandering but a focused meandering. Luscious. A brilliant wine. Now as if opens nose gets dizzying spice and unreal wood shavings. Such a compact palate and I can’t get over how incredible the focus is. — 5 months ago
Over four years since last rating. Complexity has increased. Needs a two hour decant to let the wine express itself. Just phenomenal (and this bottle made it through a tropical cyclone and meandering wander in a container through a hot SE Asian summer!). — 3 years ago

Supple and more elegant than muscular. Wonderful on opening and even more pleasant over next two hours. It has a richness and a meandering way. Less focused than some of the more recent vintages from Monte Bello. — 3 months ago
