Fairly thin, tart and mildly dry. Good acidity. Good for sipping or with strong flavors — 6 years ago
Probably the best $16 bottle of wine I can remember having. A lot of the excitement and depth of a Barolo but softer, lighter, and more nimble with an emphasis on the floral notes. Definitely benefited from being open an hour +. Bumped rating up after another bottle. Just amazing, regardless of price. Purchased at MWC — 8 years ago
The 2019 Ghemme Dei Mazzoni is gracious and delicate, especially within the context of the appellation. Sweet pipe tobacco, cedar, mint, dried flowers and orange peel build effortlessly. This silky, mid-weight Ghemme is vivid and super inviting. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, February 2024)

2016 is low aroma vintage, but the color is exceptionally vibrant and the structure highly ordered and organized. Bit static but not dull because of its authentic character and strength. — 6 years ago

Not too Puckery like other nebbiolos. Good balance. Great wine — 6 years ago
Still evolving after 45 min. Getting richer, soft tannins, this 2010 still has some years left to develop. — 9 years ago

The 2018 Ghemme Ai Livelli is a dense, potent wine. Black cherry, spice, leather, menthol, game and incense add to an impression of brooding intensity. This rustic, burly Ghemme offers tons of punch and character, but it is marked by slightly elevated alcohol, searing tannins and oxidative overtones. In spite of that, it’s still a very good wine, which just shows the potential here. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, February 2024)
