Always a crowd pleaser. 🤗 — a month ago

Villa Maria

Private Bin Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2023

While its name doesn’t sound like an SB from NZ, it sure tastes like one. Pronounced passion fruit, a little green apple, and more lime than other Sauv Blancs. Refreshing and great value at TJs. — a month ago

Lovely translucent gold color. Complex nose of camomile, butterscotch, and lemongrass. Lemons, lemongrass, and apples on the palate. Deeper wine with less acidity than past bottles. Always complex and good. — 13 days ago

Barsac 1er Cru Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 2006

Vintage 2006 | the last Brabantse winesociety wine of the year at our tastings. Marsipan and apricot, very vibrant, rondeur, elegance and extremely well balanced. A treat. — 4 days ago

Domaine de Chevalier

Pessac-Léognan Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 2015

Mid yellow/pale gold in colour. Yellow fruits, tropical - notes of pineapple. On the palate, same notes - medium plus intensity. Oak, which was obvious 8 years ago is now totally integrated. Finishes dry. An overused descriptor but this is delicious. Good white Bordeaux is a delight. 70% Sauvignon Blanc; 30% Semillon. — 18 days ago

Birthday bottle; drank with mother & father at Harvey House in Madison with some walleye. Great pairing, great company, lovely bottle that tastes like Adult Yumyum Juice. — 14 hours ago

Pur Sang Pouilly-Fumé Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Clearly a Sauvignon Blanc, which isn’t always a positive note for me, but the 12’ Pur Sang radiated such energy and clarity that made it impossible to not fall in love with. Aromas of pineapple, lemon, gooseberry, and fragrant white florals intertwined with subtle vanilla. On the palate, a delicate fruit sweetness was perfectly counterbalanced by herbal nuances and piercing, superb acidity, along with a crystalline texture and mineral backbone. Wicked wine as it is now, but it could easily spend more time on its side. — a month ago

Y Ygrec Sémillon-Sauvignon Blanc Blend 2014

There’s nothing like the excitement of head to head competition. Unfortunately, that excitement ends quickly when one of the participants has to withdraw. The 2013 was extremely advanced with a heavy petrol nose. The 2014 on the other hand was a great example of what this wine should be. A clean nose of grapefruit and grass but not in that overbearing way that can be the case with SB. Once in the mouth SB steps aside and the Semillon becomes the “boss”. Apricot and pears pop up and the initial dose of mouth watering acidity gives way to a wonderful roundness that allows for a long finish. — 22 days ago

Have the 14 still in slumber. Unfortunate about the 13.
