Marchesi de' Frescobaldi

Lucente La Vite Toscana SuperTuscan Blend 2017

Black cherries, cassis, and oak on the nose; medium plus acidity; high tannins; tastes like blackberries, and crushed gravel with a long finish. I love this wine. I can't pick out any additional flavors so my score is a little lower than I would otherwise give. Nellie doesn't like it. Jason does. — 5 days ago

Luce della Vite Toscana Sangiovese Merlot 1997

Luce from ‘97, back when Frescobaldi and Mondavi began their collaboration with this signature Sangiovese Merlot blend. Shows greats signs against the past 26 years. Brickish color. The nose shows plum, chocolate, leather, damp fall tree leaves and wet wood. The wine gently surrounds the palate with hints of preserved black fruit (figs and plum). Follows with a dry mouthfeel, medium plus body, dissipating tannins, low but present acidity and alcohol; lingering earthy finish. In my cellar for a few years and always had my doubts but the wine still holds, keeping any longer is risky… — 4 months ago

Wonderful and enjoyed with another 2007 from this zone. Very smooth and drinking perfectly, however could hold for another 5years. — 4 months ago
