Caballo Loco Grand Cru Sagrada Familia Ensamblaje Cabernet Sauvignon Blend 2014

Not my style but surprisingly well-balanced for something so big/fruit-forward/sweet — 5 years ago

Caballo Loco Number Sixteen Red Blend

Plum, blackberry, bark, spice, and chalkboard aromas and flavors for this Bordeaux blend. Smooth tannins, medium acidity, decent finish! Had it after polo for a barbecue with friends, which was perfect! — 6 years ago

Cor intensa mas não vibrante. Corpo médio. Aroma de frutas e um pouco de álcool. O sabor é de vinho maduro e com amadeirado bem evidente. — 3 years ago

Caballo Loco Number Nine Red Blend

Valdivieso of Chile, central valley, Caballo Loco #8. 14% alc. This blend is unknown as the grapes are not mentioned on the bottle. The color is ruby red with a tint of brown like we see in most French wines. The bouquet is like an Italian Sangiovese with hints of blueberry pie and dandelions. The palate is characteristic of dark cherry and blueberry and a hint of dark currant. There is a slight hint of oak and moss. No spice, no other real flavors that I can detect. A very simple wine. The finish is quick and mildly dry. Not my favorite, but not bad for a South American wine. — 6 years ago

Caballo Loco Number Fifteen Red Blend

A wine we brought back from a wine bistro called Boconariz in Santiago a couple of years ago, this is absolutely terrific. Beautiful, intense red-purple color, the tannins are sweet and rich with a great hint of camphor on the nose. Well-integrated tannins with a rich mouthfeel, that camphor component is a bit more amplified on the palate, but not overwhelming by any means. Lingering, balanced finish. Hard to gauge how much longer this will continue to develop, but my guess is that’s it’s peaking right now. Terrific example of a carmenere! — 6 years ago
