Lemon, apple, with a light toast. Creamy, luxurious, and zesty. — 2 years ago
Amazing, smooth and savory. Love it. — 4 years ago
Produced by Earl Regnault. Really big fan of this. So refreshing, clean, and delicious - much like the Bruno Paillard from the other night: gulpable. Imagine taking a stroll through a rose garden on a coastal estate right after a summer rain while eating a watermelon, strawberry, peach, or nectarine. You have this wine. — 6 years ago
The 2018 Léoville-Poyferré performs similarly to the bottle tasted a few weeks earlier in the UK for my in-bottle round-up, although here I sense more opulence on the nose, perhaps more florality. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent ripe tannins, broad and sensual, plummy with that beguiling symmetry on the finish. It needs several years in bottle but it will be well worth the wait. Tasted at the Léoville-Poyferré vertical at the château with Sara Lecompte Cuvelier. (Neal Martin, Vinous, September 2022)

Carmel, chewy chocolate goodness….Calvados is our Fall/Winter warm-up jam… and it’s all about the age. 18 years ushers in that silken smooth yet 80 proof weight…but in truth it’s the complexity of the apple aroma. I love using our antique German crystal glasses… swirl, deep sniff, repeat!
