Leftover from game night.
Lasted dry January for 23 days. Feel great! Now it’s time to drink some wine.
Perfumed red roses crushed underfoot, soil and sea. Missed sticking my face into a bouquet of waves of raspberry and redwoods.
Silken mouthfeel, striking acidity, bracing dryness, and tenacious tannins. I love the all rounded sip this provides. While there is an astringent end note, the silken structure begs for forgiveness. — 14 hours ago
light, elegant yet complex.
granache only blend from different vineyards.
light body.
high acidity.
very floral, with red fruits and greeness (grass & asparagus) and a few drops of oil.
medium finish.
just gorgeous really.
paired lovely with 🍣 with white fish & 🍄. — 5 days ago
Deep Ruby with an elegant bouquet of sweet berry fruits, subtle spice with earthy tones, a traditional Rioja. On the palate, the wine was silky smooth with layers of flavors, berry/cherry, tobacco, smoky cedar, dark fruit, vanilla spice, very well balanced with fine tannins and a clean structure ending with a nice long finish. Delicious! Still great with room to run. This wine shows potential aging well beyond next decade! — 3 days ago
Pop and pour. I initially opened a Rhys PN to pair with our lentil stew, but that just wasn't dense enough. This btl was fantastic. On the nose: soft mulberry, crushed sweet tomato, loads of raspberry, other soft herbal notes...nice complexity. On the palate: excellent acidity and density, but so weightless at the same time: black cherry and pomegranate, and then a nice finely grained tannic finish. Fantastic. — 11 hours ago
A blend of 80% Tempranillo, and the rest Grenache, Mazuelo and Graciano. Deep Ruby with ripe berry fruits, herbs and spice, aged for 3 years in oak and another 3 years in the bottle before release, Wow! On the palate ripe cherry, blackberries and ample dried fruits, well integrated oak and acidity with pepper, tobacco, toast oak and vanilla. Smooth with fine tannins and mineral notes, complex, long ending with earthy tones. Outstanding! Will continue to age. — 7 days ago
P/C impecable. Es el 2018 — 16 days ago
The better steak wine over the 2009 Ormes de Pez but, not the more beautiful, elegant wine.
The 2010 Rioja marries the Wagyu Ribcap while showing its Ranchero characteristics.
The palate shows tumble-weed, tannin fruits that are; brambly, ripe, slightly candied; blackberriesblack raspberries, dry, dark cherries with skin, ruby, black plums, very w/ ripe strawberries. Tumbleweed, straw, dark spice, tough leather, clove, sage, dry clay & top soil, crushed rocks, black pepper, dark, berry cola, mint, oak barrel powder, used charcoal with candied florals that are fresh & withering; dark, red, purple & blue. The acidity is top flight. The long finish is well balanced fruit & earth, persisting nicely falling onto earth & dark spices.
Photos of; Margues de Murrieta & vines, large oak vats and their wine shop.

Deep Ruby with aromas of rich ripe dark berry fruits and smoky spicy oak notes. On the palate flavors of ripe blackberry and plum with notes of charred wood, espresso and tobacco. Fine firm drying tannins, long finish ending with toasty oak and spice. Has long aging potential, not ready yet, wait at least 5 years! — 4 days ago
Our fair and humble state just received our meager allocation of this elusive wine just before the holidays and I swooped up a couple bottles for myself with plans to drink one early and cellar the other. This bottle was a not part of those plans. No, this bottle was generously offered by the Somm at V. Mertz for just a fraction over retail which was fantastic because now I could try the wine and not feel obligated to dip into my own bottles! In the words of Charlie Sheen, “Winning!” The color of copper River salmon at the core and an almost orange color at the rim. The nose was predominately blood orange and grapefruit with some red cherries for good measure. On the palate, cherries, citrus, and fruit pound cake, no cap. Incredible texture with the sensation almost that of a weighted blanket of flavor for the tongue which, is somewhat of a mind trick since you expect something much lighter due to the color. The finish is oh so long and oh so lovely. A lovely, if not singular Rosé that happened to be a perfect pairing with lunch. — 18 days ago

100% Viura, 6 months skin contact.
Absolutely LOVE this wine!!
Viura fans only please, find it, drink it, love it, buy a lil more & stash it. Waxed. Specialz.
If I had another bottled, and chilled.... it would be a special night.
For me, this wine is possibly equated to a Burg-hounds iodine marinated fossilized crustacean shell infused Kimmeridgian fruit forward Chablis (love my Burgundy Blanc’s too)... or something.
More Vintages, Please!
Paired with hickory smoked Salmon.
Note-wise, Ill say it has great fruit, golden, iron-like note, along with a ?peppercorn skin essence? (Essence mixed peppercorn, olfactory, not bitten into), hint of apricot... texture changes with temp (more tannic and rough when cold, smooth round fruit when warmer). Pure enjoyment. Possible almond shell note with age.
Does not state exactly, the length of skin contact. Harvest - bottling on. March 2, 2019. Approx 5-6months (Sept-March). 13% ABV — 2 days ago
