Of the older wines I have been pulling from my collection this is one of the real stars! Plump and sexy with aromas of blackberry jam, white pepper, toast and Asian spices. On the palate the richness of the tannins harmonizes with the finesse of the acidity. Black cherry , ripe blackberry, black currant, plum compote and sage finish with finish that lingers like the crack of a whip. It leaves a lasting impression! — 6 years ago

Wunderbar Pinot grande!!!! — 7 years ago
One of the three Épreuve d’Artiste Blanc de Blancs bottlings from Marie Copinet. This one is from Villenauxe-la-Grande. Medium gold color with seemingly endless tiny bubbles. The bouquet is just ridiculous with menthol, honey, and chalk. Fresh baked bread and honeydew melon. White pepper and yogurt.
This is a champagne that is just begging you to take it slow. Relax and taste this over days instead of hours. Complexity, depth, and purity are at the forefront. Very mature and very thoughtful. I really enjoyed just sitting with this for quite some time.
The attack is full of tension, drama, and intrigue. Very focused with bright citrus notes and yeast. There’s a bit of caramel and toasted nuts, as well. The finish is long and has so much finesse. A truly terrific champagne and I can’t wait to taste the other two in this collection. — 3 years ago
Purchased from a private collection we were spinning the roulette wheel with this one. We needn’t have worried about storage conditions as the nose is lively with briny notes of green olive atop dense asphalt. The grainy tannins hint at its Grenache dominance but layers of complexity make for a thought provoking (and enjoyable) glass. — 6 years ago
