Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2022

Pale lemon with aromas of citrus and tropical fruit with herb and floral notes. On the palate flavors of peach, guava, lime and pear fruit with floral and some floral tones, lively acidity adding wet stones. Medium+ finish ending, slight citrus, with fruit, herbal, floral and salty mineral notes. Nice! Not a typical NZ SB, very muted letting aromas and flavors mixing well together. Screw cap! — 3 months ago

Chapelle Des Bois Fleurie Gamay 2010

One of the “Bourguignon” producers in the line-up, this examples from Jules Desjourneys was a clear outlier in the group. This was a 2010 and came across younger than anything else we enjoyed over the course of the evening. Popped and poured; no formal notes. The 2010 Fleurie “Chapelle des Bois” is locked up in oak but the fruit is there; dark brambles forever with some licorice as well. Unfortunately, it’s going to take a very long time for the oak to give up its grip on this one. Luckily, I think the quality of the fruit will last long enough to make it more enjoyable…eventually. Best after 2025 through 2040; which seems somewhat ridiculous to write. — 6 months ago

Moulin-à-Vent Gamay 2016

Great Gamay with good acidity and showing signs of red fruit, great pull from the Somm and perfect accompaniment to the French country style magret de canard. Cheers from Paris. — 5 months ago

Saint Veran Chardonnay 2019

Great nose, but overly sparkly, not sure if it’s too young, hard to discern the palate underneath — 6 months ago
