Straight forward well done Malbec from a consistent knowledgeable institution, that really hasn't been around for that long. Will buy this again & seek other varietals from this producer. Sante'! — 5 years ago
A family farewell to Franny's, a Brooklyn institution. Sipping in style--medium bodied deliciousness, with a hint of spice. — 7 years ago
"The best Chardonnay in the world" is surprisingly rich but very delicious. Pairs well with another South African institution: biltong. — 9 years ago
Vibrant, spicy wine ... didn’t really help settle down our nerves, emotions, shock and anger witnessing today’s horrific attack on our institution that assures freedom and equality for all, founded on the principles of democracy, integrity and truth. Sad, sad day 😢 — 4 years ago
Excellent Barolo. Had it at my birthday dinner with Amel, Marco, Ms Horneman, Mr Rogers, Yafi, Skip. Paired it with bagna cauda and vegetables, uova al verde, roasted lamb with resemary, farro risotto, tuma cheese. Pio Cesare is an institution. — 6 years ago
Nice example of why Frogs Leap remains a Napa institution...a very nice wine — 4 years ago

Robert Michel he is something of an institution when it comes to Cornas and its wines. Actually 2006 it's been his last vintage before retirement, even though he has continued to help and give advice to the young and gifted winemaker Guillaume Gilles. Cuvée des Coteaux here it comes from two parcels: Les Chaillots and Le Quartier de Renard. Michel used to make severe, uncompromised, traditionally austere and long-lived wines. Manual harvest, gentle fermentation with the entire stems, wine ageing in larger sized demi-muid cask. A pity that such a majestic vigneron doesn't make such one-shot wines any more. Though, what a patriarchal wine here we've got: power and delicacy at the same time in this 2006; purity, unsophisticated class is all I love in those kind of wines. Well, what else? Dionysus bless Michel and his solemn beverage in time and in eternity. — 9 years ago

Was sold to me as "a wine that tastes like picking up a hitchhiker near a mental institution" and yeah, that checks out. — 8 months ago
