I am not a huge fan of white wines with a floral nose, but in this one it plays very well. The flowers are subtle, with an overriding minerality coming forward. That’s where I like my white wines to live. Aromas of tangerine and lemon zest are abetted by the smell of wet rocks and a trace of what smells to me like oregano. The palate is all about those minerals, with a subdued citrus flavor along for the ride. The acidity is great, perfect for something from the ocean. I paired the I Ferretti with a seafood risotto for dinner, and wished that it was on the table at lunch when I had polpo, a grilled octopus salad. — 11 days ago
Despite not being akin to white wines, this one was delightful. Light, refreshing, with almost a grassy and earthy tone. It would be perfect throughout summer. — 14 days ago
Flora Springs will always hold a special place in my heart. It was an older bottle of Trilogy that was my “ah-ha” moment with wine. Their single vineyards are nice wines, but the Rennie Reserve and Rutherford Hillside are undoubtedly my favorite from the portfolio. Hard to believe 2013 wines are approaching 8yrs, so I wanted to check in...
This poured dark in the glass but had a touch of fading around the rim. Immediately hit with very dark and roasted aromatics...mocha, baking spices like nutmeg and a hint of vanilla, mixed berry pie, and roasted fig. I was both surprised, and pleased, at how smooth and integrated this was on the palate. Stops just short of decadent, with berry infused dark chocolate, ripe black cherries and blackberries, sweet herbs, lavender, and a clean finish. I’d say this is definitely in peak drinking window and not getting any better. Enjoy over the next 5yrs or so. — 5 days ago
Great wine ! Only open for special occasions. I know the family producing this - amazing wine and very special find - they do this from the heart. — 16 days ago
Fruit basket let, overwrought unbalanced with a touch of VA upon opening, developed into an effusive fruit basket of an ideal cocktail wine, paired with boolgogi and it was fantastic — 21 days ago
Nose. Pleasant. Breeze over a lake. Elegantly mineral
Palate mineral. Elegant tropicality. Harmonious. Very good. Some green apple skin grip. Very fresh and clean.
Nice clean apply finish. — 11 days ago
Vintage drinking fantastically right now. Nose is dried cherries, blood orange/citrus, heavily mineral - almost sanguine, dried herbs underneath. Palate is similar, with the fruit dominating the front and a slightly savory finish. Great wine. — 15 days ago
Ania bday wine. Bought at winery about 8 years ago. Last drank in PR last year. Awesome how amarone should be. Blackberry raspberry tobacco on nose. Delicious cherry prune with chocolate mid plate followed by cherry again or is it prune. A red fruit black fruit mixed to perfection with some earthy tobacco overtones. Damn wish Gad another couple of bottles. Awesome. One of my top 8 amarone producers. Delicious. — 5 days ago
