The American counterpoint to an Irish whisky at the Embassy of Ireland in Japan (the recently opened Ireland House). USA a clear winner, even in the highball format. — 2 months ago
Rowan’s Creek - vanilla. Smooth. Bartender said it was the master distiller’s favorite Willett because “it tastes like bourbon.” — 3 months ago
As big fans of the Hudson vineyard, we needed to go here.
As expected, it presented the typical Hudson signature of ripe exotic fruits, volume on the mid-palate and unctuous sweetness. Pure and viscous in terms of presentation. We are enjoying this on wifey’s birthday. — 9 days ago
Visual tells you that this is a mature example. Nose presents olives peaches. Palate is all about macerated olives and briny notes. Nice delicate nutmeg and roasted nut notes combine with ripe white fruits and moderate sweetness. I love the Hudson vineyard so wanted to take a look at this. We got to this a little too late, but it’s still excellent. Its pedigree shines thru. — 2 months ago
Soft flex for Norman. This bottle of 15-year was not up to par, unfortunately. It lacked complexity and a lot of the typical flavor profile elements. It tasted hotter than usual, and there was a fair amount of peat, which is not right. Still, it beats Jim Beam.

Still reliable. $32 at Costco ! — 16 days ago
Great example of Irish whiskey, mellow yet flavourful. Almost a syrupy mouthfeel, candy, a wee bite at the finish — 2 months ago

Luckily, this bottle was on par again.
Freshness of juicy fresh fruit, just-enough-acidity and a mineral twist combined with creamy Napa-richesse of warm pastry, vanilla and a hint of caramelfudge. — 9 days ago
