I think I have two more bottles and I’m desperately hoping that’s the case. Bought during a fabulous visit in ‘24 and a worthy replacement to Aubert (I love Aubert, but pricing is getting tough).

This was one of the wines I served for my annual WWC hosting. All wines served blind.

One of Hudson’s single block offerings from their famous vineyard. Everything you love about Hudson Chardonnays is here (rich, opulent, herb crusted yellow fruits) is here but the complexity is dialed up a touch. Yellow-gold in the glass. Initially a reductive funk aromatic but it dissipated and reversed a toasted marshmallow note I commonly get with Marcassin. Yellow fruits galore on the palate with wave after wave of flavor. Lemon cream, baking spices, salted croissant, all dance with good acidity and a lengthy finish. I’m always of the belief that Hudson fruit is at its prime when fresh, so don’t miss this window over the next few years. So good. — a month ago

Freshness of juicy fresh fruit, just-enough-acidity and a mineral twist combined with creamy Napa-richesse of warm pastry, vanilla and a hint of caramelfudge. — 8 months ago

Visual tells you that this is a mature example. Nose presents olives peaches. Palate is all about macerated olives and briny notes. Nice delicate nutmeg and roasted nut notes combine with ripe white fruits and moderate sweetness. I love the Hudson vineyard so wanted to take a look at this. We got to this a little too late, but it’s still excellent. Its pedigree shines thru. — 10 months ago

On the palate flavors of black cherry, blackberry and plum with vanilla, spice and herbs. Fine soft tannins, long finish ending with fruit, spice and slight earthy mineral tones. — 3 months ago

This is a “wifey” rating…
Caramel and butterscotch notes on the nose and palate. Roasted pineapples and limes present on the mid palate, with a note of preserved citrus fruits. Evolving to a better place as it warms up in the glass. Getting better with bottle age. — 6 months ago

Abe, the man who would be king, gifted this bottle (amongst many others) to me after being an Intern in 2013. They travelled from Napa to London to Western Australia.
15 years later on a Monday night of a week I wasn’t meant to be drinking…
I pulled it out of the wine fridge in Margaret River. Cork fresh as a daisy and some decent sediment on first pour. Aerated with Vinturi and poured. Some early VA blew away and a Star Was Born. The floral powderiness on my mid palate is intoxicating. Never before have I tasted a big inky, 15% delicate ballerina like this. So glad I opened it alone so we can have a week together understanding each other. Has to be Petite Syrah. Wine study X 1000 ♥️ Pretty Pimpin — a year ago

For a red lover, and not a fan of Chards, this wine knocked me off my feet! I absolutely Loved it! If I could describe my perfect request for a white wine, it would be this one. Butterscotch, almond, a slight fruity hint of lemon zest but not sharp or tart, buttery and bright yet incredibly smooth and a nice heavy feel. This is my favorite white wine ever!
