Hedonic, ripe fruits and the sweetness of a heavy new oak regimen. Mouth-filling long lasting. If you like this style it's done just right. — 9 years ago
25+ years in neutral barrels fixed the color here. Firm, midweight, sappy, sweet, woodlaced red fruit. Great length. Still incredibly hedonic— we drank far too rapidly. — 3 years ago
This is not a profound wine, a wine of gravitas, or a wine to contemplate. This is a hedonic, delicious, fruity, floral, and dream-like wine. And to that end, it is flawless. — 9 years ago
Sulphur and hot rubber blew off immediately. Candy shop, cola candy, raspberry coulis, warm cherry pie, red pepper, paprika, salted plum, baking spices. Garnet color, long finish. At Bouchon Santa Barbara, paired with a boss rack of lamb. Best wine of the year, to the point of hedonic euphoria. — 8 years ago
If you like piña coladas and getting caught in the rain...there is no other way to say it other than you should have this in your white rotation whatever you are doing. Northern rhone white, including this very classic beauty, is always a good reminder that something very different, hedonic, and pleasureful is happening right now. And it doesn't need partners at the table. It just needs a glass. Acid, mineral, butter, a whiff of turkey, tropical fruits galore. — 9 years ago

St Eden - The nose carries the characteristic dark fruit and crème de cassis, and a very light hint of sage. The tell-tale yin and yang is in full display: Hedonic richness woven with cool minerality. The tannins serve as a guiding force, but are ever so fine as they persist on the finish. — 2 years ago
