Another gem from Hall. Inky dark purple in the glass. Notes of slate and graphite. The fruit is mostly blackberries and plum with a hint of licorice and spice on the finish. 10 yr bottle age and still has loads of fruit. The tannins have softened to a most enjoyable drink. Looking forward to the next hour. — 19 days ago
Hall Wines- terra secca - 2016 - cabernet sauvignon - Napa Valley. Italian for dry earth, terra secca describes the soil from where these grapes were born. From the eastern hillsides of Napa Valley comes this amazing cabernet sauvignon. I love a juicy, yet bold, dry wine with a leftover buttery texture on the tongue. I feel it helps to neutralize the dry finish and makes this wine go KA POW! “May I have another?” — a month ago
Light straw in color. Complex hints of dried flowers, cinnamon, ginger and cloves. Bold flavors of pears, peaches and grapefruit. Despite 100% ML it is not overly creamy. The acidity is fantastic and typical of of higher elevation wines. The oak aging is evident but not intrusive. The finish is really nice as well. — 25 days ago
This is a young Cabernet Sauvignon from the Hall family.
Medium plus in body with medium acidity.
Dry on the palate and very fruity.
Showing black fruits with cedar, vanilla, chocolates, coffee, peppercorn, sweet candy, mocha, light earth and herbs.
Nice length on the finish with soft tannins.
Showing nice complexity with a nice mouth feel. Good right out of the bottle and better with airtime.
Needs a few years in the bottle to mature, but already drinking very nicely.
A blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit verdot, 4% Merlot and 2% Cabernet Franc. Aged in French Oak barrels for 24 months.
14.9% alcohol by volume.
