This is a very nice Cabernet Sauvignon from Paso Robles. Showing black fruits with earth, chocolates, light vegetables, oak, vanilla, licorice and coke.
Full-bodied and smooth with medium acidity.
Fine grained tannins and tangy raspberries on the finish.
Good by itself or with food. I paired it with cheeses and crackers.
A good sipping wine.

Fresh out of the bottle this showed layers of juicy cherry, cranberry, and spicy clove and allspice. A medium to medium plus bodied Pinot but not overripe by any means. After a day in the decanter it evolved to show savory sandalwood, iron, and dried red flowers. — 11 days ago
Smoked raspberry, plum, tar, blackberry, blueberry, boysenberry, and currant. Lush & leathery, with ash throughout. Medium-plus tannin. Medium acidity. — 11 days ago
The 2016 'Kathryn Hall' Cabernet Sauvignon is a show-stopping wine from winemaker Steve Levesque. Composed of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Merlot with the core fruit sourced from a barrel selection from the Sacrashe Vineyard. Simply captivating, this opens to inviting aromas of ripe dark currants and blueberry compote that collide with violets, tar and shades of sweet pipe tobacco that all sing in the glass. On the palate this is soft and plush, with beautifully round polished tannins and a gorgeous seamless quality, as well as wonderful weight that truly entices. It continues to deliver layers complex flavors including blueberry compote, leather, mocha, creosote and shades of Asian spices that all build up to the long multidimensional finish. While a delight in its youth, the 2016 'Katheryn Hall' Cabernet Sauvignon should also go on to provide enjoyment for twenty years. Drink 2020-2038- 97 — 20 days ago
The whole fruit spectrum is here...raspberries, underripe blueberries and juicy blackberries. Aromatically, it leans more red and black fruit dominant with cedar and graphite. Not quite dusty. The palate brings in a touch more darker fruits (blue), with overripe/mixed berry pie notes. Dense core. Shocked to see it’s 15.4ABV! Doesn’t seem that hot. Finish has some baking spices (cinnamon, cardamom) and an herbal twang I’m struggling to identify. Not overly complex. Classic, “fruit forward” Napa cab without hitting the jammy/fruit bomb threshold. Not declining but not sure it’s getting much better.
Update 2hrs in: nose has evolved and is showing charcoal and smoked meat. Nice improvement. — 25 days ago
Lush cassis & blackberries cascade deep into the mid palate, love how finely integrated the tannins are with the fruit. How Napa cabs should be without all the doctoring that goes on these days. — 14 days ago
