Barnard Griffin

Rosé of Sangiovese 2021

Clear, medium salmon in color; on the nose, it's clean with medium intensity primary aromas of raspberries, strawberries, and citrus blossoms; on the palate, it's dry with medium minus acidity, light body, medium alcohol, light tannins, and medium intensity primary flavors of orange peel, watermelon, and red currants with a long finish. This wine is complex and balanced. It's fruity and cheerful. Overall, I rate this wine as very good. — 3 days ago

Super sapid. The nose is full@of golden raisins, dried pineapple. The palate brings in pleasant porridge (breakfast of champions). — 3 years ago

Chinon Blanc Chenin Blanc 2018

Beautiful apple cider color.

Straight up mangoes. Pineapples. An effervescence in the nose that cannot be pinpointed. Almost like the spindrift of a cresting wave colored sweet with bee pollen and honey.

Honeyed lavender, citrus peel. This is a Chenin Blanc I’d bring to the beach in the heat, toss a football around, and introduce the bros to a wine that could rival, I hate to say it, a mango white claw. I mean it’s a great picnic wine, too. Or a cheese wine. But convincing bros to drink a Chenin Blanc is a challenge I will accept any day. Now if only I could get to a beach without having to wear a face mask.

It’s a bit on the sweeter side without the bubbles to round it out, but the tropical fruit notes are killer enough to hit the 9s.
