Darwin Napa Valley Cabernet-Syrah Blend

Absolutely amazing wine. Delicious, round, well balanced and ready to drink. Fabulous with food. One of the best recent cab blends we've had.

First sip had me worried something was wrong with the bottle. I set the glass aside and an hour later saw Griffin sipping it. I told him I thought it was bad, he told me I had a bad palate. So I tried again and it was like a completely different wine. Amazing transformation- dark fruits, even better on day 2.

For grandaddy

Red spice, chalky, caramel.

Velvety tannin and richness.

Easy to drink.

Ignore the jig saw in the background...

Dark cherry and smooth with a full finish.

Too sweet for me.

Colour is burnt caramel brown a blueberry, perfumy nose and a palate of rust and a simmered fruit reduction.

Not usually a Syrah fan but this Syrah Cab blend was good - lots of nice red and black fruit, very little game or bacon
