Hill of Grace Vineyard Shiraz 2008

Voted WOTN for good reason. This has been a bucket list wine for me. Some sections of this famous vineyard were planted in 1860 but all of the vines are ridiculously old. It’s bombastic and really stands out from the crowd. Very expressive both on the nose and on the palate. Full bodied and multi layered. Creamy and rich texture. Dark berries, plums, coffee, cigar, orange peel, eucalyptus, soy, cigar box and an array of oriental spices. Probably at a peak right now, such a joy to drink. — 4 hours ago

Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon 2011

Reminds me of Sade- Smooth Operator. Velvety juniper berry. Smells like Christmas. Only 13 barrels produced. Love in a bottle. — a month ago

Savage Grace

Dineen Vineyard Côt 2019

New vintage, still a great take on Malbec. Strawberry flavor, lighter style, rounded mouthfeel, spearmint on finish with strawberry and blackberry — 2 days ago

St. Helena Cabernet Sauvignon 2008

Mag with2 hour decant, great 🥩 wine.
Having a problem with the fruit forward wines nowadays, too sweet.
Most Beckstoffer, all Caymus, Bevan, Maybach and many others. This is not one of those.

Etude

Estate Grown Grace Benoist Ranch Pinot Noir 2018

Bright ruby red color. Bountiful aromas of red berries and dried violets. Pallet is full of strawberry and raspberry fruit with hints of black tea, baking spices, earth and pepper spice. Just a bit of a “gamey” quality as well. Nice hint of oak on the clean finish. Fine tannins and bright acidity. Creamy texture. Rich and nicely rounded. Absolutely a “California-Style” Pinot Noir. Nice choice, Mark Smith. — a month ago
