Quintessential gewurtz from Alsace. An excellent value. Works terrific with a seared foie gras — 3 years ago

Clean, precise Riesling by Alsatian natural wine legend André Ostertag. From a southeast-facing vineyard located on a steep, terraced site in Ribeauvillé, next to the Geisberg and Kirchberg grand crus. Expressive and complex nose with aromas of lemon zest, tangerine, pear, green apple, subtle notes of rubber. Ripe, refreshing palate with lots of citrus, minerals and a long, salty finish. — 5 years ago
For me the perfect Muscat! — 4 years ago
Nice, mellow reduction, a touch of green fruit. On the palate this has a bit of creaminess, but there’s racy acidity and a bit of Burgundian soapiness.
Tries to have both the modern funky edge and the classic elegance… and get stuck in between. Not convincing. — 2 years ago
Fresh damson plums, black mulberry, Zwetschgenröster, and some fresh herbs & spices - sage, allspice.
On the palate this is light with lively, juicy acidity, a nice tannic grip, a fresh, mineral finish.
Has a inky, slightly wild side to it, but overall a very complete & elegant Blaufränkisch. And drinking so nicely right now! — 3 years ago

Vintage 2014 | ripened on new wood, I do not think Silvaner benefits from this, it loses a bit of its character - good wine though — a year ago
