Giusti Ranch Russian River Valley Pinot Noir 2019

Super bright and eager. Ready immediately and drinks so well. Abundance of fruit as always. It may not put the B in “subtle” but it saves it for “bold”. A most reliable wine. — 7 months ago

Rosso di Montalcino

I drank the 2010. A classy bottle which had matured beautifully. Not much on the nose but tasting cherries and black currants. A deep dryness. — 3 years ago

Really enjoyed this unique varietal and the way is piloted the mineralogy in harmony with detailed bright red fruits and a signature Italian spice rack. — 5 years ago

Vigna Vecchia Sangiovese

9.5

Rare single varietal, made of antique Sangiovese. Bone dry but smooth, quite light.
#nose sulphur, damp wood
#mouth cardamom, black currant
Had it with butternut squash and kale pasta, as well as La Bouse cheese - went SO well together.

Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore Corvina Blend 2016

Delicious but also on the pricier side. Paired with lasagna. Darker fruits and raisins, jammy, robust, well-balanced. Would love to have again. — 2 years ago

Tenuta Aria Valentina Antonio Red Blend 2018

Asolo is best known as one of only two DOCG areas for Prosecco but they make some interesting red wines there like this totally pleasant, easy to drink and enjoy lighter bodied wines. Medium minus tannin, medium plus acidity and lovely red fruit character - sour cherry, red cherry, wild strawberry, red plum, a touch of dried herbs, cassis, violet, black cherry and more. Rewarding blend of merlot, cab Sauvignon, cab franc, and the rare Veneto variety recontino. 13% abv. A very pleasant discovery. — 2 years ago

Very nice - cherry and vanilla. Quite soft for a brunello, but well worth drinking. — 5 years ago
