Quite simply, buy this wine, wherever you see it. Barolo by another name, and ever so slight. — 7 years ago
Very dark. Makes me wonder if there is a little Petit Verdot blended in. Nose: lovely over-ripe dark cherry. Some tobacco and leather . Palate: the same. Still light and fruity. Very easy drinking Merlot out of Virginia. — 8 years ago
More PLEASE - very well crafted…evident ;) Structure and balanced…sadly, the 2019 vintage has sold out! Will give the 2020 a test soon. — 4 years ago
The best wine I’ve ever tasted imho. Light and fruity, the perfect amount of sweetness. I buy it whenever I find it. — 6 years ago

An interesting grape. Especially to be grown in VA, but this winery does it right. — 7 years ago

It held beautifully
I personally thought was 15 years younger
Lots of scents
From a dark fruit like blueberry and plum to spices like cloves and cinnamon; leather and cigars box too.
Looking for weaknesses I’d say it doesn’t have a long finish, not extremely intense on the nose( is that really a fault?) and maybe it is a bit too much on the oaky side, but altogether very enjoyable wine. Colour was misleading, still ruby and garnet, just a slight glimpse of orange on the edge. Thanks @Mauro Gabriele — 8 years ago

What a fantastic build from a great vintage. Drinking this a little young for the recommended maturity of this variety… nevertheless, drank to his potential. Wish I had several more!! Weight and acid and tremendous harmony — 5 months ago
