Intense blackberries. Rich , hint of spice . Nice — 5 years ago
Looking at the reviews I was surprised so low for an $8 wine. I am enjoying this. Tastes more sweet than tart. Not able to identify fruit but I guess more like a ripe tropical fruit. — 6 years ago
Gift from a client - lovely, full bodied red 🤗 — 8 years ago
Tonight I wanted to enjoy something a bit different than my trusty Cab. I had seen this bottle in the French quarter of the store for a very reasonable price so I brought it home.
For a novice like myself this is a very approachable wine. I have found that the more it's allowed to breathe the better it gets.
It's light, easy to enjoy, and would go beautifully with many a dish. Don't let the price fool you. This is a very good wine.
Overall, a delightful taste of France. — 9 years ago
Medium ruby in color; oregano, green bell pepper, and black cherries on the nose; medium minus acidity; medium plus tannins; tastes like cherries, eucalyptus, and wet gravel with a long finish. Nellie says it's ok. I'm enjoying the unique aromas and flavors. — 3 years ago
Virtual Zoom tasting with Hardy Wallace...the wine is remarkably restrained... light in color, impeccable in the acid undertone, supporting the ripe mystery berry essence that floats weightlessly over the glass. Complex, complete, compelling for a wine this young. — 6 years ago
Wonderful. Black cherry. Present from Mai and Keisuke. — 8 years ago
Turns out Mourvèdre goes great with ramen - both earth y & delicious! Red fruit & dry dusty roads...thanks @Hardy Wallace !! — 9 years ago

Two words come to mind when tasting this standout of a bottle: “apricots” and “finish.” Tasting notes may be subjective, to say the least, but this deep red beauty brings to mind the brighter stonefuits like apricots and nectarines. Don’t let the full body and enticing nose fool you, this wine has a bit of punchiness to it, and trust me you’re gonna love it. The longer finish you’ll find with Freakshow is exactly as desired, this wine gently sticks square on the top of the tongue. To whom would I recommend Freakshow’s Cabernet of damn near any vintage? Well, frankly, everyone. But if you’re looking to impress that date and the only thing you know about their wine preference is simply the word “red,” then do both of you a favor and grab this bottle. — 4 years ago
