Bold but smooth finish — 7 months ago
Color of ruby, clear. Nose of fresh cranberry, milky vanilla, licorice, spice, some strawberry ice cream, tangerine, and sweet sensation. Taste of spice and zest, some backbone tannins, sweetness, and fresh grapes. Aftertaste of some more warmth in the throat. Easy to drink. A bit sweet for me. On par. — 6 years ago
Like the label suggest this was a very fun wine. Smelling strongly of herbs and green vegetables it had a very light and simple taste to it. Strong enough to hold up against aged Gouda and a spinach salad. Delicious and in my opinion a great value. — 6 years ago
Well integrated Cabernet Franc. Dark plum and blackberry fruit flavors. Big hints of green pepper with notes of earth and slate. A bit of a medicinal flavor on the finish. Low acid and can be served chilled. One of their last Long Island vintages. — 7 years ago
Tropical fruit and honey aromas with candy, lingering acidity. Tannins from long maceration. Fun unexpected pairing with spicy Asian cuisine — 8 years ago

Fruity but balanced with acidity at the end. I liked this $20 at BCLS but on sale for $15 in December 2025. — 6 months ago
Very jammy with spice as well - my favorite flavors of Zinfandel, balanced well. — 7 years ago

At Flying Goat, the goal is to produce unpretentious, playful wines while retaining a serious quality focus and commitment to a purity of expression from single-vineyard sites such as the Solomon Hills Vineyard, Bien Nacido Vineyard, Rancho Santa Rosa, to name a few.
This intention is reinforced by everything from the whimsical labels (Flying Goat, Goat Bubbles, YNOT), to the critical acclaim Flying Goat Cellars has garnered for its impressive wines, to the impeccably balanced and delicious Pinot Noir and vintage, traditional method sparkling wines.
This 2016 blanc de noirs sparkler — made with Pinot Noir hailing from the Bien Nacido Vineyard — is medium gold in appearance, with a fine and creamy mousse, and fresh notes of just-ripe yellow apple, pear, white peach, lemon zest, citrus blossom, biscuit, toast, brioche, toasted almond, and marzipan. It has a lingering, elegant finish.

Lives up to its name. Maraschino cherries on the nose. Bright, soft, mild acidity, great with a chill on it - would be perfect on a warm spring afternoon. — 6 years ago
Where the name doesn’t apply this wine soars! Jazz, artisanal chocolate (Fijian ginger and kerikeri mandarin if you must know), and some friends wearing fantastic Pyjamas.... this wine fits right in. — 7 years ago
Surprisingly light colour but it sings in the glass. This seems to me to be low intervention winemaking - lots of sappy, honeyed red fruit and pure pleasure. Reasonably priced at $55, which seems to be what it costs in Ontario for a decent Pinot these days. — 8 years ago
