2018 vintage. Supposedly from the team that brings you Château Gruaud-Larose from St. Julien. Correspondingly lean with light-medium body. Not flashy in any aspect (which validates the G-L lineage) but exceedingly well made for the resto price of $18. Nice effort. 7.17.24. — 4 months ago
1986 vintage. 5 bottles tasted for a 1986 vintage BDX dinner @ Mister A's-San Diego. This was up against other 1986's Pichon-Lalande, Beychevelle, Gruaud-Larose, Montrose and Cos. Double decanted and tasted over 5 hours. Respectable sed. Effin pop and pour now. Right right now. The clear winner. So good with balance and enough fruit without having to reach or rationalize. If you're not able to access for 7-10 years, you should be okay. Delicious. 3.14.24. — 8 months ago

Left Bank Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (60%) and Merlot (40%). Dark ruby color. Aromas of black fruits, forest floor and menthol. Flavors of black berry/currants with hints of dark chocolate and roasted nuts. Long and smooth finish. Intense but well balanced tannins and acidity. Medium-plus body and nice freshness. My continued quest to try as many 2022 Burgundies as possible.
My instincts on this one is it will require more cellaring than the previous other five 22’s.
The nose says, it is in a dumb phase. Not showing much. Muddled, brooding dark fruits, not very distinctive earth and withering dark flowers.
The palate fruits are nice. Juicy, ripe but again not one fruit stands out over all others. Dark cherries, ripe strawberries, some nice blackberries, plum, raspberries with the lightest blue fruit hues. Tannins here but far less pronounced than the previous five wines. Like the others, dusty, dry top soils, limestone powder, dry river stone, black tea, dark rich soil with dry leaves, dry twigs, 65% new oak here but you wouldn’t sense that high of use, so, barrel shavings, lightly grilled meats, dry tobacco & leather, very light baking spices, baking soda/powder, nice, dark spice-not overdone, dry herbs, moist, volcanic clay, withering to dry dark, red flowers, nice acidity with an nicely; balanced, elegant, well made finish that lasts two-minutes that run nice fruit to dry minerals.
