“Ojo Gallo’, Castellano for ‘rooster eye’ (in other words, what the French call ‘oeil de perdrix’), hearkens back to the traditional clarete style of the region. This dark rosé (light red?) is a field blend of very old vines of Tempranillo, Garnacha, Bobal, Monastrell, Viura, Albillo and Malvasia co-fermented in cement and raised for 8 months in used barrels before bottling without added sulfur” — 2 years ago

Nice balance of fruit and soft tannins. Aged in oak 24 months. Less fruity than many other Riberas. — 8 months ago
CSW. Tempranillo. Hints of fruit and has terroir. Stands up to beef & lamb — 4 years ago
Fresh and bright indeed. Amazing value here displaying blackberries and black cherries. Feels balanced, a bit plush and needs food to shine even more. Nice find thanks to the recent article in NY Times by Eric Asimov on the new Ribera del Duero. Seek this out and pair with lamb chops or a juicy steak. — 5 years ago
Muy rico. Importado por Mendez. — 2 years ago
The fruit layer is airier and more elegant than expected and infinitely preferable to most overripe ones in Ribera del Duero. The oak and the tannin support is substantial and expertly done. This has the brightness and purity missing from most Ribera del Duero’s, as well as the softness and suppleness. — 5 years ago
