28% Tannat, 24% Tempranillo, 24% Syrah, 22% Grenache, and 2% Cabernet Sauvignon (so beyond weird why Delectable calls this Cabernet Sauvignon??), this “Home Vineyard” was always the most highly-allocated and difficult to buy of Hank’s wines, but he was always kind enough to sell me 2-3 or more bottles, so huge kudos to @Hank Beckmeyer for that!!

Color is still quite purple/red, I’m getting aromatics that suggest Tannat/Tempranillo mostly, not Syrah/Grenache, shows a fair degree of ripeness (14.3% ABV, different from many of the post-2011 cuvées), tannins are smooth, long finish, I’ve always loved this particular LCF red wine!! — 15 days ago

This bottle brings me right back to the beginning where I fell in love with Gideon’s work. Highly concentrated, intense, sappy texture that sticks to your gums.
Juicy ripe black summer plum, black cherry, blood orange, fresh fennel, pomegranate, purple flowers, tomato leaf, black pepper. Extremely complex and extremely delicious.

Still a strong backbone of acid and fruit persisting through the long finish. Tannins are fully resolved. Completely clean after a couple minutes to air out the bit of Brett and VA (which I expect and embrace with these wines).

I was ready to start popping all my remaining Clos Saron bottles thinking they were starting to decline, but a bottle like this could go forever. There is definite bottle variation at play, and the off bottles can be a bit muddy and dull. But when they hit (which they usually do) there’s really nothing like it. — 4 years ago

This is a Priorat-style blend of 45% Grenache, 30% Syrah, and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, the structure and fruit are pretty Cabernet-dominated, the Syrah and Grenache provide nice backbone and warmth, well-done!! — a month ago

Another above-the-fold headline scoop from "Superman's Pal"! This is a dense, jammy blend with slimy smooth body. The rich dark cherry, red raspberry, and black currant flavors balance nicely. It works well as an after-dinner digestive wine. — 7 years ago

OK folks that’s like a cheesy label. Dark red. Almost impossible to see through it. Smells like incense, stewed plums and potpourri. Flavors are inky and big. Rich berry bottom. Hint o’ mint. Very dry. This is classic style for CA Petite Sirah. And very nice. — 2 years ago
