Eola Amity Hills, Willamette Valley

Panther Creek

Schindler Vineyard Pinot Noir 2016

Located in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA, the ‘Schindler Vineyard’ is a very small site planted to Pinot Noir and set on marine sedimentary soils. A light whiff of salinity runs through the nose with kirsch and peat moss aromas that all meld in the glass. The palate has good freshness and energy with bright reed fruits that dance with shades of blood orange and minerals. The seductive mineral and dark fruit driven finish lingers long on the palate. Enjoy this fantastic new bottling over the next decade or more. Drink 2019-2029- 92

Bethel Heights

Justice Vineyard Estate Pinot Noir

A Pinot with a floral bouquet and tart cherry flavors. Not too tart and an enjoyably smooth finish. A really good wine. — 2 days ago

Jessie Vineyard Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir 2016

In the context of a long pinot lunch, this was a great reference point. It has weight and balance. It’s young and full of potential. Great acid and concentration. — 10 days ago

Big Table Farm

Laughing Pig Pinot Noir Rosé 2018

The 2018 ‘Laughing Pig’ Rose by Big Table Farm was aged in neutral oak barrels prior to being released in mid-April 2019. Showing off its rich, dark hue, the 2018 ‘Laughing Pig’ opens with serious aromatic range from shades of honeydew melon to citrus rind and copious ripe red fruits that all connect in the glass. The palate shows a silly texture and weight, yet retains a wonderful sense of elegance. Bright guava, nectarine, and cran-pomegranate with red cherry candy flavors collide with the bright sense of minerality. The exceedingly long finish accentuates this simply gorgeous new Rose. While delightful in its youth, this will cellar well for the next seven plus years. Drink 2019-2025- 93 — 15 days ago

Lingua Franca

The Plow Eola-Amity Hills Pinot Noir 2016

Violet pink rim , violet ruby core. On the nose lovely rose and red cherry notes. On the palate more of the red cherry , some darker fruits and a mineral backbone .. very nicely balanced acidity , ripe fine slightly bitty tannins . Good length. Overall elegant and rewarding , and will improve over a couple more years . — 10 days ago

Evesham Wood

Eola - Amity Hills Pinot Noir 2014

So fragrant and nicely balanced. Nose has ripe red berry, black tea, cola extract, and the merest bit of warm gravel. Broad and sensually soft in the mouth, with sweet/savory flavors that spread to every corner of the palate. Very feminine style. With a tad more depth and complexity, this would be outrageous. But as it is, it is really fine. — 23 days ago

La Source Seven Springs Vineyard Pinot Noir 2015

Lush, velvety, and inviting that is dense and weighty. Exhibits blackberries, mineral, spicebox, and rose petals, with a hot, peppery finish. There’s a lot going on here; every sip seems different. — 15 days ago

Terrific pale color for 6 1/2 yr old wine. Pear, citrus , essential oils combine with seamless texture, long finish. Would like more acidity but this is compelling CH nonetheless. — 7 days ago
