Nothing says St Patrick’s Day like Barbaresco! 2011 Oddero Gallina to be exact. At least the album is called Another Green World. Eno on this beautiful spring evening is ideal and no joke, the tannin from the Nebbiolo and the salty corned beef are magic together. — 8 years ago

This wine was a deep garnet red. Loved the nose from the start. As some of you might know, we love a slightly stinky nose. It is not off putting to us at all. Nose started off dirty with a slight barnyard nose and moldy/smoked cheese. It developed into charred wood, smoke and a few vegetal notes such as green bell peppers. Heavy tannins (7/10), such a beautiful bite to it that we were not expecting. Solid acidity complemented the tannins and moderate plus body. Slightly savory on the palate with some light vegetal notes. Long and lingering dry finish. Would love to find some of this to buy. If this retailed for the price at Eno Wine Bar, it is still worth that, great QPR! Drink till 2027. — 10 years ago

Very good. The winery experience was wonderful! Not too dry. Light pepper flavor. Indefinable fruit flavor. Most likely the plum or currant flavors. Very good wine. — 8 years ago

What a treat! This rare wine (can really only be purchased at a certain steak house in Chicago area) is a 40-30-20-10 blend of cab franc, merlot, petit verdot, and cab sauv, respectively. It is tannic and plumby, a little stemmy too. Nice tannic structure, and subtle tobacco and pepper notes. Solid yum! — 9 years ago
