The 2021 Pinot Noir Julia's Vineyard is laced with crushed red berry fruit. Spice, tobacco and mint are some of the notes that grace this expressive, nuanced Pinot. The 2021 was done with fully destemmed fruit, but there is a sense of savoriness here that is quite attractive. $25.00 (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, November 2023) — a year ago
This is probably the youngest vintage I’d drink Salon as they age at a snails pace. Much more to offer at this point than 06 and 07. Swirls in a Burgundy glass reveal its amazing purity, intense minerality, chiseled palate and an incredible sense of place. It’s elegant and concentrated with a stunning texture and mouthfeel, offering plenty to be enjoyable now, but many many years ahead. — 3 years ago

Light red. Really drinkable. Super nice — 7 months ago
It’s been a little bit since we’ve had this but this was quite different than we recall. Much less acidity. I don’t know if that makes sense and wouldn’t mention it if we both didn’t say the same thing. Still just lovely, actually I loved it with toned down acidity. Is that just time? Doesn’t feel like enough time to make that difference? — 2 years ago
2017. I’ve been looking for an excuse to try this bottle and an article recommending Cru Beaujolais as a pairing with chicken and sausage gumbo made sense and worked great! Gulpable dark cherry juice with mild tannins that were only really noticeable after dinner. — 4 years ago

Got a great deal on 6 pack of these two Bordeaux greats. Both got scores of 99, but the range of scores was pretty wide for both as well. I know I have to lay them down for 10 years+ but I wanted to try both for a baseline.
The Palmer is showing a lot more than the Ducru. It’s very enjoyable now! Nose is fantastic if a touch muted but still get nice cedar, black cherry, hint of floral, and something herbal. The palate is slate, cherry, blackberry, and currant. Not muted or closed in the least, but the slate thing overlays the fruit. Does that make sense? Help me describe that.
All in all I love this wine. Can’t hardly wait for 10 years from now. Guessing I won’t! — 2 years ago
