Medium lemon colour . Very fine quite persistent perlage . Quite strict and mineral on the nose , with chalk dust , oyster shell then lemon pith , honeysuckle, toasted brioche. Quite taut and focused on the palate , but with good intensity with mineral , lemon peel , brioche and lightly nutty hints . Good freshness and really good length . This is showing quite young but enjoyable now , will probably improve further over the next few years and hold well over the following 5-10 years . — 15 days ago

Chablis from a good producer in a warm year can produce some interesting contradictions. It’s not got a lot of weight or body but feels quite rich. Some honey/beeswax on the nose and that sort-of-green undefinable flavor/terroir marker Chablis has. I think I bought a case and this felt sort of confused and heavy for the past couple of years (as young whites in warm years often do) but it’s starting to hit its stride.
