Golden copper in colour, so pure & expressive on the nose.
75/25 PN/Ch blend with zero dosage, disgorged in Oct ‘21
Fresh strawberries & wild strawberries, a touch of cream, crunchy red apple, fresh sourdough bread in the background, just a tiny pinch salt & spice.
Amazing creamy mouthfeel! Layered, rich, juicy, so complex. Tiny persistent bubbles, great depth. Red apples, hazelnut brioche, a savoury, slightly salty finish with amazing length.
Unbelievable that this is zero dosage! It’s so complete, rich, delicious!
What a wine!

If you want to know what my style of champagne is, look no further. A pale shade of lemon in the glass with pretty effusive perlage to begin with. The nose is outrageous right out of the gate with citrus aromas. Golden apples and lemons abound with marzipan complimenting. Grapefruit really comes alive after some time in the glass with more fresh biscuits and mild spice. Honeydew and melon notes are superb here.
These non vintage vintage champagnes from Jacquesson have been on my radar for quite some time. Though I think they’re on everyone’s radar to be honest. Deliciously stark acidity and hyper focused with a minuscule dosage. Based on the 2016 and composed of 45/35/20 CH/PN/PM from Dizy, Ay, Hautvillers, Oiry, and Avize. Bright and vivid, this is so pure and fresh with a great amount of depth.
Reserve wines make all the difference in champagne. Such profundity and a nice level of complexity to be found here. Savory notes on the palate to match the chalky minerality. A feast for the senses, the elegance and purity from this cuvée really sets it apart. I don’t need to tell anyone to go grab these, because everything Jacquesson produces is already hard to come by. — 3 years ago
Showing some age, this exhibited the compelling depth and complexity of CH with amazing acidity and precision — 4 years ago
This is exactly what I wanted it to be. A stately shade of gold with few bubbles and a nice mousse. Such pretty aromas of spice on the nose along with roasted nuts, ginger, and cigar smoke. Apples with lemon and limes. Dried cherries and a touch of oak just to continue to elevate things.
Where to start? 40/40/20 PM/PN/CH from Moussy. But the real info you want and need is that this is primarily composed of reserve wines from 1971, 1975, 1976, 1982, and 1984 with the remaining 40% from the 2012 vintage. Those old vintages really make a difference here. Fresh while elegant. Refined yet lively.
The palate is nutty and yeasty. Nice tension with zippy acidity. You can tell this has a long life ahead of it so maybe you want to let it rest for a few years. Or you can open it and have fun. — 2 years ago
