Domaine De Pellehaut

Domaine Berlancourt

Bourgogne Chardonnay 2014

Very quiet nose off the bat. Faint minerality. Palate is alive, stunning and well though. Concentrated, powerful and complex. So sappy and dense with wonderful structure, sap and richness. Juicy and long with such intensity. Really really pure. This punches way above its weight. — 9 days ago

Gorgeous, pure and exceptionally beautiful, with fabulous texture. Even so, the 2002 needs at last 5 more years and probably more to be at its best. Today the aromatics are not especially expressive. — 16 days ago

Domaine Jacques Prieur

Champs-Pimont Beaune 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2005

Aromas of plums and earth. Very polished on the palate where flavors of cherry, plums, apple skins and leather are coated by an acid wash. Would not open a bottle for 3+ years + — 4 days ago

Domaine Taupenot-Merme

Bel-Air Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Pinot Noir 2009

This one will drink well for a long time. It felt so young for mature burgundy, so full of life. Black cherries, thyme, clove, and dried tea leaves on the nose - pallet showed raspberries, dried cranberry, nutmeg, violets, and a lingering finish. The color was beautifully garnet red, slight signs of a burnt orange rim, but a wine full of concentrated flavor and red still remains after 8 years. If you can find some, buy 3, drink one, forget about 2. Paired with fillet mignon, red wine jus, and roasted roots. — 9 days ago

In a great place. Nose of earth, mineral, dank cherry fruits, spice, some dampness and dead leaves as well. Very classic. Palate is exuberant with tons of juicy fruit and big time cherry. Terrific lip smacking acidity and such nice purity. Outstanding. Balanced and poised. — 3 days ago

Domaine Henry Lamarche

La Grande Rue Vosne-Romanée Pinot Noir 1969

from a bottle owned about 20 years and having a decrepit label, the wine was as good as the label bad. Super density and fruit, very elegant, grand cru weight, no risk of decline. — 8 days ago

Screaming Mimi of a nose. Big red fruits and some barnyard. Cherry cough drop. Dried leaves. Very nice. Expressive. Palate is juicy and vibrant and almost citrus like in its intensity. Clean with red fruits and nice length and good noble tannins. Really impressive showing. — 4 days ago

Domaine Leroy

Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru Pinot Noir 1976

from a searingly tannic vintage, the wine was beautiful and full of fresh ripe fruit, no tannins, rising well above its station and just full of pleasure. — 8 days ago

Romanée St. Vivant Grand Cru Pinot Noir 1993

What a nose! Bright, floaty strawberries, floral notes and that lovely subtle sherbetty, Leroy nose thing. On the palate really delicious. Raspberry and broad soft fruit. Gorgeous and long... this is classic Leroy, seductive, sexy and supple. — 15 days ago
