With tagliatelle and homemade marinara — 4 months ago
Tasted alongside the Cote Doree, this is also nearly 100% Syrah, this cuvée seems a tad cleaner aromatically, without the gamey/brett notes, but show lovely dried redfruits, a smoky note underneath, as well as what I perceive as roasted onion skin, this seems clearly mature and at peak now, long, lingering finish, also 12.5% ABV, lovely!! — 6 months ago
Somewhat simple compared to my hopeful expectations. — 8 days ago
Sh-t. I mean. This starts inconspicuous but becomes more energetic with each day open. Coiled acid and melting taffy. Aching red fruit; dripping, swirling mineral dust. Subtly sweet, then unexpectedly dry, with a powdery texture. Worthy parallel to eg bandol rose, but even more acid. — 6 months ago
Needs some time to open up, then black cherry and tar, lively and deep. — 2 months ago
The 2020 Barolo Le Coste di Monforte is redolent of iron, game, incense, scorched earth, blood orange, dark fruit and tobacco. A potent, strapping Barolo, the 2020 is certainly not for the timid. It offers tons of Monforte power, brawn and muscle. A few years in the cellar is an absolute must. (Antonio Galloni, Vinous, September 2024)

This 15 year old Washington Syrah is drinking very nicely now. In your face kind of wine. Bold, extracted and definitely delicious.
Good right out of the bottle, and better after 90 minutes of airtime.

Peaking now, and will continue to drink nicely in the next few years.
