Réserve Des Rochers

Mâcon-Chaintré Chardonnay 2017

First taste seemed ‘thin’…. But opened up with more tastes. Maybe the martini I had affected the taste. As the dinner went on, I came to really appreciate the delicate taste. Lovely wine. Enjoyed at Chez Foushee :) — 3 years ago

Domaine Clos des Rochers

Wormeldange Nussbaum Riesling 2014

Luxembourgeoise Riesling? A “grand premier cru?”
wasn’t expecting a great qpr work class Riesling. Fruit is fresh orange and tangerine. Great mineral spine. Juicy with great acidity and maybe just a hint of rs. Finishes with a satisfying dollop of petrol. Not peak yet.

Grand 1er Cru Grevenmacher Fels Auxerrois Blanc 2017

Tasing sample. Nice clean, crisp wine that has a Riesling nose and a Chardonnay finish. Nice mineral and light fruit, good structure too. Very good. — 5 years ago

That’s like seeing an old friend —For many years my local store carried this Luxembourg wine, & was always impressed by its build, as you say Reisling on the nose but with a thicker, Chardonnay mouthfeel. Closest analogy is that of an Alsatian Auxerrois ( kinda makes sense...)
