Strawberries, mineral. Very good. — 4 years ago
This is actually Ryan’s “Been Away Too Long” bottling, a 100% mourvedre sourced from Denner. If you don’t know these wine, do yourself a favor and try a few bottles. In my opinion he makes the best pure mourvedre outside of France. Unlike most mourvedres, Ryan’s are elegant - more like a grenache - but with great depth of flavor. His wines are very approachable when young, but definitely put on some weight and depth with a few years in the bottle, so my rating will absolutely go up with time. Terrific wines from a small, excellent winery in Paso. Check it out! — 5 years ago

Blend of 40% Roussanne, 20% Vermentino, 15% Grenache Blanc, 15% Marsanne, 5% Picpoul, and 5% Clairette Blanche, aromas of stone and citrus fruits with floral spice. On the palate flavors of apricot and peach with notes of honeysuckle, cinnamon and lemon citrus. Long creamy finish ending with fruit, floral and mineral character. — 10 months ago

Nice wine from 2020 with herber Note from start, deep red color, some taste of chocolate and berry.
Sehr dunkles Rubinrot, die Nase noch etwas verhalten, Noten von Pfeffer, Erde, Cassis und Pflaume, am Gaumen wuchtig mit viel Konzentration, deutliche Holznoten, ein kraftvoller Wein.
Invites to drink.

Hitting perfect right now! Spiced, blue fruits, well integrated. Just absolutely stellar! — 7 months ago
Dances on the tongue for days! plum, morello cherry, cedar, spices. Such a vibrant and youthful wine, even for Denner! — 2 years ago
First time having this one, I’d buy it again.

Winemaker Anthony Yount produced a stellar set of wines in 2018, all of which exhibit the vibrant fruit character that marks the vintage. Once again, I was impressed by the all-Carignan Sacred Burro bottling, which shows the potential of this still-obscure variety in Paso Robles, both as a blending grape and for a stand-alone varietal bottling. While more and more wineries have begun to include it in their plantings and the resulting wines, nobody yet is doing it as consistently well as Denner. — 4 years ago
From Anthony Yount (also makes Kinero in addition to his main gig at Denner), this is a terrific, lighter style of clairette blanche. Has kind of a tight temperature window where it really signs - too warm and you lose the acidity, too cold and you lose the aromatics - but in its sweet spot just below 50 F it’s perfect. Will be interesting to see if it puts on a little weight with another year or two in bottle (which could be cool). — 5 years ago
