De Garde Brewing

Jean Mâcle

Château-Chalon Vin de Garde Savagnin 1995

Medium deep lemon , old gold colour , slightly hazy appearance. Intense on the nose with iodine , sea breeze , green apple and Indian spices . On the palate this also shows a lot of intensity and grip , really quite young apparently . Green apple , toasted almonds , orange rind , curry and a strong seaside component . Long and complex on the finish with , really fresh saline tinged acidity . This is seems pretty young and I would imagine can still go another decade or longer. — 20 days ago

At 10 years this wine is ready to boogie with a big dinner. It's juicy, balanced, and very pleasant. — 5 months ago

Château Pradeaux

Bandol Mourvedre 2004

All of the garrigue. Tasted alongside the Longue Garde version but this was the superior wine for right now. — 2 years ago

Château La Fleur Cailleau

Canon-Fronsac Red Bordeaux Blend 2019

2019 vintage. Château La Fleur Cailleau, Canon-Fronsac. Bought in 1982 by Paul Barré (also Château La Garde, Fronsac) and managed these days by his son Gabriel and his wife Edith. Biodynamically farmed since 1990. Very impressive indeed, with an exemplary purity of fruit, ripe tannin and energetic acidity. Highly recommended. Abv. 14,5%. — 3 years ago

La Terrasse de La Garde

Pessac-Léognan Red Bordeaux Blend 2015

This is equal parts Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, but my nose keeps telling me it's Syrah. Heat and spice on the nose. Muted dark fruit flavors, blackberry, raisin, figs followed by powerfully bitter tea leaves, red apple skins, and stone. A lingering tannic finish. It's good, but should have been decanted and paired with food, not sipped before bed. Try again tomorrow.

So much better. It's amazing how a little oxygen can transform a wine into something completely new. @Tegan Marriott

Langlois-Château

Vieilles Vignes Crémant de Loire Chenin Blanc 2005

LoireTasting #6 - cab franc serie
Deep garnet color, thick (not filtered, not glued) Beautiful evolved notes - red fruits, licorice, pomegranate, and many shades between undergrowth, spices etc. developing during tasting. A Loire wine that has magnificently endured 18 years in cellar and needs to take the time to open.
