Served double-blind. The wine appears as a deep golden color. Medium+ viscosity. The nose is a fascinating combination of intense honey suckle, orange blossom, coriander, candied oranges, and candied nuts. The palate follows suit with more honey suckle, citrus blossom and a slight nutty characteristic. There is definitely some residual sugar here. There is really good acid keeping everything afloat. The finish is long and short of cloying. Really impressive texture. Based on the color and the somewhat oxidative notes, I figured this had at least 10-15 years of age on it. I vacillated between Sauternes and Riesling…ultimately calling Sauternes from Barsac (feeling as though this was more Semillon than Sauvignon Blanc). I chose, poorly. But the wine is good and it positively begs for spicy Asian food. — 5 days ago
Jammy, earthy, full bodied slightly sweet but balanced by tannins. Dark fruit, plum, berry on. One. Dark fruit and tobacco on palate. Justine liked — 7 days ago
Without doubt, for the loot, Duband is my favorite producer in Burgundy.
This has relaxed and is now ready to drink. Subtly, elegance and grace define the core characteristics of this superb pinot.
The nose is understated, but still presents cedar, smoke and ripe cherries. Great, structured mid palate. Tannins are still prominent. Cinnamon notes and vibrant acidity bring home the excellent finish. This still needs more time in the bottle, and I predict further improvement in the long run. — 9 days ago
After trying the Aristoga blended wine last week, I was pleasantly surprised by this 100% Chenin Blanc variant – a far more enjoyable and less confused wine. Made in the typical style of the higher quality SA vineyards. This wine was a rich medium gold in appearance, medium intensity on the nose, offering up waxy yellow fruits, unripe peach. For me it still felt a little understated, lacking some needed acidity. Enjoyable wine. — 12 days ago
@Delectable Wine this is the Beaune 1er. Pop and pour. A touch austere at first, but really needed air to get going. After 1.5 hrs much more giving. On the nose: a touch of game, pure wild strawberry, soft cola, a hint of stems. On the palate: fantastic acidity, savory red fruit, which complements the nose so well, brambles, and a dusting of tannin on the close...stunning with some air. — 12 days ago
Michael David Winery Inkblot Lodi Cabernet Franc 2018: Inky purple in color and bold, black & blue fruits in taste. Smooth polished tannins with additional touches of vanilla, tobacco & spice. A great rich & dense Cab Franc you’ll be happy about. Great day to all! Cheers🍷 — 7 days ago
Earthy but develops into more juicy flavors. Metalic-y? But in a good way. Cranberry juice in consistency and flavor as it warms up (in that dry but juicy way) — 11 days ago
Très bon, bonne longueur, très puissant, arômes de fruits noirs. Assez acide. Bonne surprise. — 16 hours ago
