Really nice Pinot noir from Craft. Has a bright rose petal aroma with cherry, raspberry and wood. Smells very alive for six years old and being under $30. Flavors are bright and medium intensity. Plenty of jammy red fruit but with some tangy citrus notes and lots of mild pepper. Drinks very fresh and has a medium lasting finish. Awesome bargain. — 2 years ago
The estate once belonged to the famous Lynch family, of Irish origin, acquired by Jean-Charles Cazes in 1934. His grandson, Jean-Michel Cazes restructured the estate in 1974, with state-of-the-art winemaking equipment. Primarily Cab Sauv, with Merlot, Cab Franc & Petit Verdot in the blend. Deep Ruby, complex nose, aged well, round berry fruit flavors, blackberry and plum with an oak character, elegant with soft tannins, a delicious wine ending with delicate fruit, oak and mineral notes. Great! — 4 years ago
PnP. Red, maroon color with caramel edges. Massive coffee on the nose, with some bell pepper and chocolate. Similar on the palate with some Bandol, smoky elements. This really evolved quickly from first sip. Past prime, but still interesting. — 3 months ago
Jean-Pierre, François and Pierre Perrin craft wines, inspired by the memory of their grandfather, Pierre Perrin. Mostly Grenache, this is a classic Châteauneuf du Pape. Vivid Ruby with dark fruit and spice aromas. On the palate flavors of blackberry and cherry with notes of herb pepper and leathery character. Soft tannins, good balance, long finish ending with fruit and spice, very nice! — 3 years ago
Owner Doug Margerum and winemaker Doug "Scotty" Scott, craft world-class wine working with the top vineyards in Santa Barbara County. Blend of 49% Grenache, 31% Syrah, 10% Mourvèdre, 5% Counoise, 5% Cinsault. Deep Ruby with dark fruit and floral aromas with complex spice. On the palate flavors of plum, cherry and raspberry with lively acidity. The finish brings notes of cacao, licorice, espresso and earthy minerality on a long ending. Nice value. — 5 months ago
August Sebastiani & brother-in-law, Kendrick Coakley, craft small-lot wines made with minimal intervention, so one can enjoy the truest representation of each appellation & how its terroir impacts specific varietals. Came across this rarity & tried several vintages, aged 20 months in French oak. Aromas of ripe berry fruits & floral spice notes. On the palate flavors of plum, raspberry & blueberry, cinnamon spice with tobacco and spice. Fine tannins, long finish ending with vanilla oaky. Great value! Small production. — 3 years ago
As this warmed above 50 degrees the flavors became quite complex and interesting. Herbal, vegetal, but unique and distinct flavors came out. Creamy in texture with umami in spades. Excellent — 4 years ago
