On the palate this one absolutely shines with blackberry throughout and so many candy, licorice, and liqueur notes that you'll be picking out brands. This one was really lovely in front of a roaring fire. — 5 years ago

Plum, bing cherry, prune raisin—all with classic structure & finesse. From magnum, relished over two days. Who says you can’t age Zinfandel? The last single vineyard zin before the sale to Constellation. — 6 years ago
This was all part of our Sake Day 2025 experience. We only tasted 60ish sakes out of an estimated 450, so a small fraction of what was available. While I attempted to rinse the glass with water and stay hydrated it’s difficult to fairly rate in this environment and I use it solely as a time to try a wide variety and interact with the brands. — 9 months ago

👍🏼I was at a liquor store seeing all of the standard go tos in the 20-30 range. I wanted to try something different. Thinking to skip the “well known” brands in hopes that something not known in the same category my offer more. And it’s true. This has the spice I love, not overly grapey. Will definitely be on my list to purchase again. — 3 years ago
Last of my bottles. This has a profile that seems to allow for early drinking, and the tannin and acidity here don’t make me regret finishing these (though I’m sure this will be just fine for 5+yrs in this type of profile).
Between a 92-93 here. One of my bottles poured for a big Paso theme (2010 Epoch Block B, 2015 Torrin Akashi, 2012 Saxum JBV, and others), this was close to pop and pour. When I first had this two years ago, it had a reductive/smoked meat profile on the nose that has disappated. Aromatics show lots of black cherry, black raspberries, amaretto, baking spices and espresso. Quite perfumed. The palate is juicy and lush, with more high toned black fruits, cedar, a roasted character and a lip smacking jamminess on the finish. Unabashedly Paso.
As an aside, it’s crazy how these can be found around $50 now after Constellation bought this label out...I paid $75! Good value at $50, not so good at $75. — 5 years ago

Okunomatsu Juhachidai Ihei, Daiginjo Shizukuzake I usually like drip sake but found this thin and not amazing. There was another drip sake later on which was amazing. A stunningly great Pacific NorthWest Pinot Noir! Incredible on the nose with a hearty, earthy presentation that flows into a full bodied but light on the palette tart red fruit forward sipper. Time to grab more of this!! — 5 years ago

Armand de Brignac “Rosé” Brut – NV
Champagne, France 🇫🇷
Overview
A prestige multi-vintage Rosé Champagne crafted from estate-owned vineyards in the Montagne de Reims, including Rilly-la-Montagne, Chigny-les-Roses, and Ludes. Blend composition; predominantly Pinot Noir, supported by Chardonnay and a smaller proportion of Pinot Meunier, with a measured addition of still red Pinot Noir wine to achieve its delicate rosé hue. Produced in small batches, this cuvée emphasizes finesse, purity, and subtlety rather than power.
Aromas & Flavors
Fresh wild strawberry, raspberry, and red cherry glide out gently, followed by rose petal, citrus zest, and faint brioche notes. The fruit profile is precise and lifted, with a quiet chalky undertone and restrained pastry character.
Mouthfeel
Exceptionally delicate and refined. The mousse is fine and silky, with bright acidity carrying the wine effortlessly across the palate. Light-bodied for Champagne, elegant and poised, finishing clean and graceful without weight or richness.
Food Pairings
Tuna tartare, salmon sashimi, shellfish, light charcuterie, soft cheeses, or as an elegant aperitif in good company.
Verdict
Not my preferred Champagne style, but undeniably well executed. Subtle, polished, and extremely delicate, this Rosé delivers finesse over intensity and proves its quality through balance and restraint.
Did You Know?
Armand de Brignac Rosé is assembled using multiple vintages and finished with the traditional Champagne method, with each bottle completed by hand, a rarity among luxury Champagne brands.
🍷 Personal Pick Highlight
A memorable experience enjoyed with friends, especially alongside the Gold Brut from the same house, a beautiful contrast of delicacy versus depth. — 7 months ago
