Dark fruit, tart tannins, complex. I’d buy a case of this vintage and enjoy with a Cohiba from Havana 🇨🇺 — 8 years ago
This wine will evolve into one of the best Brunello di Montalcino’s, just spin a bit too tight at this moment to show off the exceptional aromatics and structure. Dried red and white rose petals, English breakfast tea, charred plum, Cohiba cigar. — 2 years ago
On the nose old Cohiba leaf and cherry stems. Completely resolved and beautifully broad, elements of cherry pit, dried red fruit, candied cherry and dark chocolate all combine beautifully to a finish that veers towards Bordeaux. Long, dry and smooth finish. Outstanding. A few years left to the beginning of the end. — 5 years ago
Young Cali Cab Sav. Nose at open, Maraschino cherries with layer or cigar box cedar sting. First taste BIG red berry front, followed by sage next car on the flavour train, white pepper, oak barrel char followed up by a caboose of eucalyptus burn.
The wine needs 40 minutes of breathing @ temp of 18C. After this it lengthens and balances better. The front remains very juicy with Raspberry cough drop sweetness, flowing into green pepper corns, Cohiba cigar smoke and medium length finish. Cheers🍷 — 6 years ago
This is a late post, this is from last week’s dinner with our friends:
What a great way to finish a perfect evening under the stars!! I absolutely adore a fine Cognac!!! Thank you once again Beverly and Arvind for a truly amazing evening. The Cognac and Cohiba were simply awesome But it was your hospitality which stole the show that evening. It was PRICELESS ☝️👏👏☝️ — 8 years ago
Always a power drinker. Flavorful play with a Cohiba and my cheese plate. — 10 years ago
2010 - decent supermarket wine, since I can no longer be bothered to overthink my wines pre-weekend travel. Also, maybe it's sort of a fun game to discover the random Jensen's gem, or, maybe I'm just jaded. All of the above, most likely. This was decent paired with my Cioppini & Lake Arrowhead air. Exhibited lots of tobacco/cohiba aromas, and was easily guzzled. Tasty. — 10 years ago
Aromas of medjol Dates, figs, Mint, leather, Cohiba cigar for days, beautiful structure to this wine. Picasso label and elevation to 1st Growth. Iconic. — 2 years ago
Outstanding liquor with ice and lemon juice on the side. Paired with Cohiba — 2 years ago
Bright fruity notes with an almost cinnamon-coffee aroma. Enjoyed it on a cool, spring evening on the patio with a cohiba! — 6 years ago
2001 vintage. Found this little gem in a dark spot at bottom of cellar. Forgot about it. Would have liked to open 5 years ago but fun to see what evolves. A dearth of fruit but plenty to enjoy. Finishes a tad tart but lots of tobacco which is superb with the Cohiba in my hand. Happy Holidays! — 9 years ago
Floral hops character with a touch of caramel maltiness. Nice but a bit thin in body. I may need to change to a better accompaniment to the best in world Cohiba Behike cigar. This second production of Behike is my favorite with deep rich tea, cream, and leather. Cigar is an absolute 10. Upon reflection, the beer is somehow nicely mirroring the flavors of the cigar, so I've upped my rating. Not a bad pairing at all. — 10 years ago
