Not the best PN I have enjoyed from this winery. It is light throughout the experience. I appreciate the "burgandian" dedication. The front was tart with cranberry and unfortunately the rest was nothing but light ....essence of what should be there. The terrior I usually enjoy from this region was a big miss! — 24 days ago
Treat from a wine excursion to PEC 2013. A delicious Pinot Noir "Noble Rot" dessert or apertif wine. 2 days ago when opened it had an effervescent on tongue a bit distracting but apricot marmalade flavour came through. Revisted the remaining half bottle tonight and "tingle" was faded in mouth. This allowed us to truly enjoy with warm smoked garganzola and guyere shortbread cookies. Truffle notes really cameout on backend - well worth the wait! — 3 months ago
Just over a year ago we visited the winery in PEC. Truly worth the visit to understand and appreciate the work behind this wine. As described by others light taste in front. Cherry twizzler that builds in spice of terrior as it opens and tannins grip the mouth feel. The nose delivers cranberry transistioning to sweeter pomogranate. The appearance is light burgundy in colour perfectly clear. — 5 months ago
Truly enjoyed this bottle. Nose brilliant field berries with hint spearmint. The mouth was unique as the front presented muted dark fruits and then BAM BRIGHT BERRY lingering off into warm wood with light notes of toll houses chocolate.
Great bargain at LCBO this week under $20! — 24 days ago
Front provides reserved black & red berry flavours in tradition of GSM. The mid is light in spice in my POV as the "mineral finish" comes to mouth fast with soft tannis on back end. Good value....enjoyed with Rouladen, roast potatoes & french green beans. — 2 months ago
This is an uncomplicated great bottle of California CabSav. We had probably over chilled the bottle but the nose was sweet black currant berries. The taste pure Strawberry - Vanilla- Menthol without heat. Simply good taste and juicy. — 5 months ago
Good mouth feel velvety smooth. Front transitions rose - leather with GSM style nuisance. FInishes with tar oil into subtle oak wood smoke.
Enjoyed with Duck Confit and pomegranate, mushroom risotto — a month ago
Delivers on its promise; rose, saddle leather and dry pencil lead finish. As it opens dark cherry and grip of tannins develop. Enjoyed with salt, pepper, mustard and corriander crusted NY Strip. Joined by Lemon Riccotta Ravioli, grilled red onion rings and Cremini mushrooms — a month ago
This CO Pinot Noir has classic Burgundy attributes. Nose strawberry with a hint of black fruit. Taste cherry front not sweet or tart - Balanced - with a great cold stone finish and hint of moca. Definitely would repurchase. Enjoyed with mushroom based turkey al king and rice meal. — 3 months ago
Location is Nova Scotia. Has a fresh fruit of blueberry and flows into Merlot strawberry with hint of heat from white pepper in the finish. As is the common NS wines, backend acidity which robs the wine of a better score. I would only recommend this with BBQ Rib Eye or pulled pork with Sweet Baby Rays sauce to counter acidity. Not recommend with lean meats.#goingcastel#novascotiawines — 6 months ago
