Passionate Pinot Noir
Rioja blend very tight or concentrated in its early character; Taste Dark Plum fruit -smoke- steel - huge tannic.
Nose new leather, Five Star spice and smoke.
After opening up (1 hour): Nose, Strawberry Jam. Taste, Rose - Red Currant - Large Oak - Saddle -Clay. Tannic reduced with food (Paella) and then returned but less severe after dinner.
Would revisit with fatter meats. — 5 days ago
Nose upon opening sweat blackberry jam converges with warm tar.
Mouth feel is not as thick as you would expect. Front delivers flavours of Black currants and dark cherries not overly round or sweat. Mid brings ashes and oak with a relatively short finish length of cough syrup. This 15% alc./vol. which might explain finish. Providing more than 20 minutes of time to breath would be recommended. — a month ago
I’d like to try this again. The environment it was first tasted in had overbearing perfumed odour which distracted from my ability to truly taste it. I saved 4 oz to try later and 48 hours since opening it’s characteristics were impressive. Smooth flavours in this order; cranberry - pomegranate ....light smoke. — 18 days ago
Light on characteristics outside of green apple. This is more appropriate for use in a Spritzer and letting the lemon slices to shine! At its price point it could be called a “Good Value”...but you still have to like something for it to have value. — a month ago
Enjoyed with BBQ steak.
Front, blueberries and currant flavours. Middle, provides mild green pepper with white pepper corn warmth. Finish, no menthol/eucalyptus and I’m okay with that but the finish was lacking length & character. The mouth feel, grip of tannins after steak was consumed. All in all nothing special here. — a month ago
Very economical and enjoyable Rhône GSM+M blend from #winecollective.ca. Has an added “M” of Marselan varietal. I found this added a Lip smacking exclamation point too the Raspberry/Strawberry & Garrigue flavours in the backend with a lingering sea salt finish. Mouth feel is excellent light and tightly balanced acidity.
Great paired with slow cooked beef rib roast and root veggies. Definitely recommend! — 25 days ago
Pleasant northern 🇮🇹 red. Fresh , young not overly delivering on characters or length. Dark Cherry - mushroom funk - glint of tannin gripping and wet rock. — a month ago
Nose raspberry. The front is Red Nibs which are fresh but the advertised notes of coffee or mint are not present in POV. The middle is thin even metallic and rushes to Welch’s juice finish with a breath of oak. Not worthy of more then $12 — 2 months ago
Pleasant with violet nose which changed to red licorice as it opened. The wines front was subtle with currants and blueberries. Mid had spice cubanelle pepper and finished with mineral flavour pencil lead. — 2 months ago
