Hickinbotham

The Revivalist Clarendon Vineyard Merlot 2017

Blend of 93% Merlot, 7% Petit Verdot, deep Ruby color, rich fruit aromas with earthy herb tones. On the palate flavors of plum and cherry with herb spice, tobacco and cacao notes, rich and juicy. Soft full tannins, long finish ending with oak and earthy herb character. Just starting to drink now, will cellar for a decade. Tasting Sample! — a month ago

Moritz Clarendon Syrah 2005

Another Langtons mystery deal. Typical Clarendon Hills volatility and richness but with a lovely backdrop of savory spice. — 10 months ago

Jauma

Clarendon Wood Vineyard Ralph's Dry Grown Shiraz

One of the best wines from our trip. This wine was firing at all cylinders. Dark purple Syrah fruit with plenty of meaty smoky notes, yet also so energetic and minerally. Couldn’t put this one down! — 5 years ago

Sandown Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon 2006

This is drinking so well now. Lovely bouquet, smooth and round with a long long aftertaste. Dense, powerful and lively, with many years ahead of it. — 2 years ago

Brookman Syrah 2007

Drank in 2019 with grilled steaks. Ultra rich and smooth - taste of prunes and dark berries. Probably the best syrah I’ve ever had. — 5 years ago

Astralis Syrah 2007

This was a big boy. Sweat nose and full body, yet elegant. Tannin structure still there and pleasant on the palate. Black fruits with a pepper kick. Lingering finish makes you want more. — 3 months ago

Romas Grenache 2005

Carefully decanted, and it took two hours to open up, but when it did - wow! Not overly complex, but wonderful mature Grenache flavours coat your palate and go on and on for several minutes. Highly enjoyable. Luckily I have a couple more to look forward to. — 8 months ago
