Inky dark color. Tomato leaf, coffee, and mint on the nose. More pyrazine notes on the palate along with cocoa, cranberry, leather, black pepper, molasses, raisins, coffee, tobacco, and dark cherry. High acid, high alcohol, medium plus tannins, medium plus body, and long finish. Despite all the tertiary notes, drinks vibrant and fresh. Drink now or hold. — an hour ago
Full bodied. Good notes of spice and black fruit. Good legs and a dark red color staining the cork almost black. Long finish and great with fish and red meats. — 2 months ago
03/15/25 at total wine for $6. Not bad for price. Subtle Pepper flavor but smooth. Work with steak dinner. Normally we do $20-40 wine, this worked well. — a month ago

My first exposure to Don Melchor was rewarding! Rich, dark fruit maturity on the nose was consistent with long lasting dark cherries and red plum on the palette. Soft tannins reminiscent of a well aged Cabernet, the softness of this young cab was surprising and delightful! An absolute treat to taste!! — a month ago
