A really pretty medium old gold color with an interesting and lovely nose featuring plenty of citrus. Citrus for days. Green apples and perfumed flowers. There’s even a little touch of caramel going on here. Magnificent.
When one says that a wine is alive and vibrant, this is what they mean. Mostly Pinot Noir from Verzy with an Extra Brut dosage. Half is from the 2015 vintage and the other half from from a solera established in 2010. Electric acidity and full bodied with plenty of depth. Amazing how it develops in the glass over time. More green apples on the palate along with cherries and herbs. Long and delicious, a wonderful champagne. — 4 months ago

I have yet to “meet” a Special Club that I didn’t love. This ☝️ may sit at the top of my list.
Special Club Champagne is the highest tier of classification that grower Champagnes can achieve. As of 2021, there were 28 Club de Trésors, or Club of Treasures, members. There is a rigorous process before a champagne can be bottled in a dedicated green Special Club bottle.
The 2013 Mouzon-Leroux, La Blanche Voie Spécial Club Parcellaire is made from equal parts of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, zero dosage, that comes from the village of Verzy. 100% delicious.

Moussé is known for its Pinot Meunier yet this is 100% Chardonnay from a vineyard that was not well suited for Meunier due to the particularly deep soil. I found this to be a delight with lemon-lime citrus of tremendous precision. Minerals like it was San Pellegrino and a long finish. More chiseled than rich. So refreshing.
