Last evening we opened the 2018 Château Soutard-Cadet. A Right Bank Bordeaux from Saint-Emilion. Bottled at Château Sansonnet a blend of 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc.
On the nose there is juicy dark black fruit black cherry, blackberry, black plum, blueberry, vanilla, allspice, violets and wet damp earth.
On the palate there is black cherry, blackberry, black plum, cassis, camphor, cedar, sandalwood, chocolate and rich dark earth.
This is a full bodied wine with a smooth velvety mouthfeel medium +acidity and racy medium+ tannins with some grip that moves nicely into a long rich dark fruit and woodsy finish. The weekend looks to be cold here and we will, I am sure, have some more red wines. Have a great weekend and please stay safe and healthy. Nostrovia! 🍷🍷🍷🍷 — a year ago

2014 vintage. Ripe and rocking for the price. Heavy body. 85% Merlot, 15% Cab Franc. Excellent value. The 2018 vintage swings as well. 9.24.23. — 7 months ago
