This sweet Bordeaux pushes all the right buttons for a wine style that wants to be known as “more than dessert.” The rich golden hue beckons, while the nose of candied fruit is draped in a cloak of minerality. The palate certainly wants to be more than an after-dinner afterthought. The viscous mouthfeel, bracing acidity and mineral-driven flavor profile form a trio unlikely to be caught traveling together in most sweet wines. These have been doing it for centuries. — 9 years ago

Vintage 2021 | This wine is like an adolescent child, you need trust to see it grow up, ripen and develop into a balanced adult. Some people like this wine young with its peach-apricot youthness. I do if you combine it with food, such as duck liver mousse. This wine will be beautiful in 5 - 7 years. — 3 years ago

This wine has a deep golden color and a lovely nose of honey, apricots, apples and earth. The sweet palate brings the apricot forward more and delivers a racy acidity that will make for a good food pairing - and not just for dessert, mind you. This will be a great sandwich wine, if you like a sweet accompaniment. — 8 years ago

AMAZING dessert wine! — 6 years ago
Neat little gem, reminds me of a dessert wine I had quite a bit from Loupiac - Semillon really shines with big time yellow peaches & apricots w/honeyed accents. Viscous & silky with decent acidity allowing it to dance across palate to a fairly RS laden sweet finish. This will be compelling in 3-5 yrs — 8 years ago

2009 vintage: Lovely 100% semillon sticky. Nose of apricot, peach, rose petal and warm sweet liquorice. The palate is velvety and deep with apricot, liquorice and white flower. The acidity keeps this wine very fresh and enjoyable. AG — 11 years ago
